# 59 Glory to the Lamb
Invocation
Call to Worship
You have heard of the glory of God! Enter into the presence of the Almighty, and see.
See that God is good. See in our transformed lives and in the hope we share.
I will praise the Lord at all times; praise for God is always on my lips.
My whole being praises the Lord. The poor will hear and be glad.
Glorify the Lord with me, and let us praise God’s name together.
I asked the Lord for help, and God answered me, saving me from all that I feared.
The angel of the Lord camps around those who fear God, and God saves them.
Examine and see how good the Lord is. Happy is the person who trusts God.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Prayer of Confession
Gracious God, how often we have lived as if there were no hope to be found.
We neglect to see Christ in the other person; we do not look for the brightness of Christ’s love in the shadows. We have forgotten how to share hope with those in need.
SILENT MEDITATION
Lord, forgive us our short-sightedness and give us the vision to see you at work in the world around us.
And when we see others who are hurting, enable us to find ways of bringing your hope to them. Through Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
In Jesus Christ, God forgives us and grants us mercy and grace. Believe the good news of the gospel.
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!

Mark 10: 2 – 16
Hymn # 473 Take Up Thy Cross and Follow Me
Prayer of Confession
Gracious God, your love for us is beyond our understanding. We ask your forgiveness because we take our relationships too lightly, because we treat those close to us with coldness, and because we often treat strangers with contempt.
We have not loved wholeheartedly; we have not guarded our words as we should; and we have put our own interests first, rather than the interests of others.
SILENT MEDITATION
Lord, teach us through the example of Jesus how to love.
Teach us how to share, how to be in community with others. We humbly pray in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Invocation
Call to Worship
What would it be like, if we could trust God completely?
What would it be like, if we were aware of God’s presence with us, all the time?
What would it be like, if we could worship God, with our whole heart, holding nothing back?
In worship, we catch a glimpse of such whole-hearted, unrestrained faith.
In worship, we draw near to the God who has already drawn near to us.
In worship, we present ourselves honestly, just as we are, and sense that God accepts us and understands. Let us worship God together!
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Prayer of Confession
Loving God, we know that you call us to live out our faith each day, with acts of generosity and kindness. You call us to be shepherds, not out of obligation, but out of love and devotion for you.
But, we fall short of this ideal. You ask us to love our neighbor, but we restrict our compassion and put up boundaries.
SILENT MEDITATION
Forgive us Gracious God.
We ask that you redirect us, so that we will follow your loving example. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon

Songs # 35 Holy, Holy Is The Lord of Hosts
# 108 Alleluia
Invocation
Call to Worship
Let us give this hour to our God, as we welcome each other with the sign of peace.
Let us receive each other as a child of God. As we welcome each other, we welcome the one who brought us here!
(Pause now, and turn to the person next to you and give God’s sign of peace.)
Listen up, if you want to be wise!
Wisdom won’t be found in the company of troublemakers.
Smart-mouths, manipulators and know-it-alls won’t lead you in the right way, either.
Instead, wisdom is part and parcel with the Word of God.
Wise people soak themselves in the Scriptures.
The Bible doesn’t stay on their shelves; they read it with eagerness and joy!
Because they know the Word, wise people are ready when trouble comes.
The Word feeds their souls.
It renews their hearts so that they are at peace.
We give you thanks, Lord, for your gracious Word!
Based on Psalm 1
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Prayer of Confession
Gracious God, we know how easy it is to forget that we are all created in your image. How quickly we judge people by what they wear or what they do….rather than who they are. How easy it is to lift our voices in criticism rather than lift our hands in compassionate care. How fast we are to dodge reality, rather than face what is, and make it better.
SILENT MEDITATION
Loving God, forgive us we pray. Grant us the wisdom to listen with love and the courage to speak out for those who have lost their voices. We ask in the name of Jesus the Christ, who came to show us what a life of love looks like. Amen.

Gracious God, healer of all, we come in need of healing. We suffer afflictions and continue trying to heal ourselves.
We often ignore your healing powers. But in our hearts we know that you are the source of all that is good.

Lord, now we come to you in humility, begging you to strengthen our faith. Feed us with the crumbs of your goodness; help us to avoid what is evil.

Invocation
Call to Worship
What does God seek of those who seek the Lord?
To walk with a clear conscience and do the right thing;
To speak truth from the heart and do no harm to neighbors;
To stand by one’s word, even when waffling might be advantageous;
To not make another’s misfortune a cause for one’s own profit;
To not use words as weapons;
To not put one’s judgment up to the highest bidder;
Those who do these words will be found in the One they seek.
Come, let us worship our Creator God!

James 1: 17 – 27
Hymn # 320 Simply Trust
Prayer of Confession
Gracious, we ask forgiveness because we often separate faith from service, and grace from ministry.
By your Spirit’s working inside our lives and communities, restore wholeness to us. We want our speech and our actions to flow effortlessly, showing that our word and deed give witness to your uncommon grace.
SILENT MEDITATION
Lord, the world needs to hear your word in Jesus Christ.
May our witness be complemented, not contradicted, by the way we live. This we pray and thus we would live in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer of Confession
John 6: 41 – 55
Gracious God, we ask your forgiveness when your words and ways seem difficult.
Soften us when we harden our views about you and others. Refresh us when we take offense instead of understanding.
SILENT MEDITATION
Lord, remind us through your Spirit that even when we stumble, you are there to renew our spirits.
You are there to enlighten our minds, to cast away that which deadens us, and to take on that which leads to life in Jesus Christ. We choose to follow Christ, not because we must, but because we may. In His name. Amen.

Let us rejoice that he has given us each other, and celebrate the gift of living as one church.
May we be unified in our words and songs and prayers.
Come together now, as one, to worship!

Lord, we know that you will have us on your terms, not our terms.
We surrender. We will enter into the life eternal that you are granting. We pray in the name of Jesus our Savior. Amen.
