Call to Worship

Come, all you who are weary.

Come, all you who are broken.

Come, all you who are beaten down, abused, depressed and full of sorrow.

Come, come and worship.

Let the praise of your heart be honest and pure.

Find joy and rest in God’s presence.  God is here, waiting for you.  Come.

Come to this place of respite and sanctuary to be strengthened for the ministry we share!

Come this day to worship, adore and praise.  Come!

Hymn         #  473   Take Up Thy Cross and Follow Me

Prayer of Confession

Gracious God, your love for us is beyond our understanding.  We ask your forgiveness because we take our relationships too lightly, because we treat those close to us with coldness, and because we often treat strangers with contempt.

We have not loved wholeheartedly; we have not guarded our words as we should; and we have put our own interests first, rather than the interests of others.

SILENT MEDITATION

Lord, teach us through the example of Jesus how to love.

Teach us how to share, how to be in community with others.  We humbly pray in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.  Amen.
