Call to Worship

God has set us apart, all of us, before we were born, and called us through grace to proclaim Jesus among all the nations.

Thankfully, this is not an exclusive club!  God calls us all into one family!

Come, people of God, receive this grace and enter into the destiny appointed for us before our birth and the destiny that awaits beyond our death.

Come to worship, to praise, to celebrate, to sing and to adore!

Psalm 146

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Prayer of Confession

Dear Gracious God, it is so simply to ask you, as our God, to forgive us, rather than risk practicing forgiveness ourselves.

We confess that it is easier to apologize to you in a prayer, than to make amends to our neighbor or to ourselves, for the wrongs we have done.

SILENT MEDITATION

Holy Father, help us not to misuse your gracious sovereignty.  Guide us into showing mercy to one another.

May this confession be merely the first step in a new walk of grace.  In the name of Jesus we pray.  Amen.

Invocation

Call to Worship

When we stop and consider you, O Lord, our hearts are stirred and our minds become like jelly.

O Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

When we consider the heights and depths and grandeur of your creation, we are in awe and we worship you.

When we ponder our place, as humanity, in the midst of your creation, we are humbled.

We are creatures of such great glory, and yet we are also capable of causing tremendous pain and destruction.

Help us find our true place in your created order, following the way of Jesus.

Let us be agents of change and agents of redemption, of your work in this world.  How majestic is your name in all the earth!

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Prayer of Confession

Confession of Faith.

Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God in Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand;  and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God.  And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
