DATELINE: November 2011
This is a season of “Thanksgiving!”
Thank you, Father God for blessing us another year!
This year those who support the church, and the members addressed the issue of finances head on and we met all of our responsibilities. Also we continue to support all of the missions here and around the world. Many of you stretched and stepped up and God continues to honor your faithfulness.
Thanks to St. Luke for hosting a shared worship on 11/20, where we were inspired by the words of their new pastor Rev. Vanessa Cummins, as well as the singing of the choir and the wonderful fellowship which followed at lunch. The morning was a blessing to all!
Thanks to Bob Brakvill, who continues to help by supplying our printing from time to time.
Thanks to everyone who helped with the dirty job of cleaning out the dirt basement! (no pun intended!)
Thanks to Cheryl Salwasser, for inviting your friends, Ann and John to join us in worship. We are happy to share our love of God with them and with all.
Thanks to Bruce Conway for meeting and greeting every Sunday, and keeping the attendance records.
Thanks Carol Kraemer for the beautiful flowers every Sunday.
Each and every one of you come forward in some way or another to help keep your church beautiful and cheerful and clean and welcoming! You know who you are….and so does God.

Raise our voices with shouts of joyful praise;
For God created this earth with oceans, birds and flowers;
For God fashioned people of all ages, colors and kinds;
For God loves us.
God loves our hopes and our dreams, our failures and our successes.
God loves our songs and our dances, so we raise our voices with shouts of joyful praise, singing to God a new song.
Let us welcome God into this house of worship, where we have gathered in His name.
Let us worship God!

Songs # 118 My Tribute
# 146 Revive Us Oh Lord
Invocation
Call to Worship
Jesus calls us to follow him, to live as he lives, to love as he loves and to serve with him in the world.
But we already have leaders to follow, commitments to fulfill, plans to implement.
Jesus calls us to follow him as our first allegiance and to go where he goes.
But we do not know where Jesus may lead, and discipleship is risky.
There is assurance with the calling, for those Jesus calls, he strengthens for the journey.
Let us follow him in trust, and worship him together.
Song # 242 We Have Come Into His House
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Hebrews 4: 14-16
Prayer of Confession
Gracious God, we hear you, we know you are seeking us….but ….we are pulled in so many directions. The requirements of discipleship are overwhelming.
Our families and our friends need our attention. We have worthy projects to do. Forgive our holding back and the self-protective reasons we give.
SILENT MEDITATION
Lord, forgive our failure to make a leap of faith trusting in you.
Give us spiritual food, so that we might have the energy to follow you, in the way of your Son the Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Prayer of Thanksgiving
Luke 24: 44-48

Thank you God, because you also trust that we will offer the invitation of your grace to all who witness our living. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Message Like Father, Like Son
Dr. Rev. Joseph Wooddell
Prayer of Response
Father: We acknowledge Jesus as your Son: Son of God and Son of Man, who has authority to judge. We acknowledge Him not only as the Son of God, but as God the Son, equal with You, Father. We confess that His works, His judgment, His honor, and His life, are all intimately conjoined with you, Father. We accept Your gospel: we hear, we believe, and we ask for Your help obeying and persevering. We confess that you are God, and we are not, and we worship you. We pray all of this by Your Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name, because of who He is and what He has done. Amen.
